On
the bluffs and beaches of California’s Central Coast, rests
a charming resort of stunning natural beauty and relaxed luxury.
Set on 78 beachfront acres just north of Santa Barbara, the luxurious
Bacara Resort and Spa blends Spanish-colonial warmth, old Hollywood
glamour, and an ultimate experience in the new California dream.
Bacara
opened its doors in the fall of 2000 after 20 years of preparation,
from concept to opening. An hour and a half up the coast from
Los Angeles, the 311 guest rooms and 49 suites fill 28 buildings,
each with a courtyard, fountain, or pond. Winding paths and open
balconies give the resort the appearance of a residential village,
complete with three zero-edge swimming pools and 26 private cabanas
- all on a bluff overlooking the sparkling Pacific Ocean.
Area Information
Santa
Barbara, CA
Nestled between towering mountains and palm-lined shores lies
the beautiful town of Santa Barbara.
Santa
Barbara is a captivating blend of colorful history and distinctive
Spanish-style architecture. The history of Santa Barbara is eminent
in the missions built by the Spanish in the 18th and 19th century.
As you look around this beachside town, you can see the evidence
of early Spanish influence in the red-tile roofs, warm-colored
plaster walls, arched facades, enclosed garden courtyards, and
wrought iron embellishments.
In
the early 1900s, Santa Barbara was the film capital of the world.
It was the playground of the rich and famous. More than 1,200
movies were made here in a 10-year span, and Santa Barbara was
a favorite spot for legendary film stars such as Douglas Fairbanks,
Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin.
Today it still welcomes the rich and famous. With its luxurious
resorts, high-end shopping establishments and distinctive restaurants,
the wealthy can’t help being drawn to this town.
The
unique Spanish style, white sand beaches, small town charm, and
ideal year-round climate make Santa Barbara one of the top tourist
destinations in the USA.
